MARIE THERESE WOLF
Born in Vienna and based across Italy, Austria and Spain, MT blends her background in technology with art and design.
Her work, featured at numerous international jewellery fairs amongst others at the Munich and Brussels Jewellery Week, Romanian Design week, Venice Design Week and more, explores the intersection of science, creativity, and storytelling through bold, intricate jewellery.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
MT believes that jewellery has no boundaries. Her pieces are sculptures, talismans, seemingly purpose free objects. Some of her jewellery conveys this limitlessness in the form of light and shadows transcending from the physical pieces. The experiences with these pieces do not only reside in the physical object alone but in the phenomenon of the emitted light and shadows. The tactile quality of the pieces is complemented by interaction with them. Some of her pieces transfer imperfections, purposely, and these develop with time, producing a stronger connection. The little chips and blemishes strengthen the bond between the wearer and the piece. Concrete is one of MT’s go to materials and her familiarity with it from years of living in Japan, is evident.
