Marie was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. She has worked in various countries across Europe and Asia.
An exposure to many different cultures is evident in Marie’s approach to design where she distils these influences into her pieces.
She draws inspiration from multicultural experiences and then employs innovation in materials, designs and processes to make each piece simple, modern and fresh.
The recurring concepts in Marie’s work include clarity, fluidity and transformability. Each of her pieces is designed on paper or digitally first and then produced by hand.
Marie passionately experiments with materials. She finds satisfaction in using objects or materials that others discard.
Her pieces are big and bold. They never cause indifference.
